Ordinary People. Extraordinary Response.

NEXT EVENT: September 5, 2026 • 8:30am - 3:00pm

Come be part of our September ReachOut serving a local family in need.

We need volunteers with carpentry skills to repair a wheelchair ramp and a mailbox, skilled chainsaw operators, brush and debris removal.

Snakes and potential ticks are likely, so wear long pants, boots, chaps, gloves, sprays, and any protective gear you have.

CRI will provide safety glasses, chainsaws, landscape equipment, tools, and trash bags.

Because of the terrain and type of work involved in this ReachOut we are asking that only kids ages 12 and up attend with you.

WHEN: September 5, 2026 from 8:30am to 3:00pm (A light lunch will be served.)

WHERE: The specific address will be sent out to registered volunteers, as it is private.

Who We Are

Crisis Response International is a nonprofit based in York County, SC, that exists to bring hope, help, and the love of Jesus to people facing crisis both locally and around the world.

What ReachOut Is

Crisis is not always a large-scale disaster. Many people are carrying quiet, personal challenges. Showing up locally allows us to respond before situations escalate and reminds people they are not alone.

The ReachOut Program offers local, hands-on opportunities to serve individuals and families who are walking through daily trials and real hardship. These events are designed to give you a way to step in, meet practical needs, and offer care where it matters most.

Every ReachOut event is about seeing people, showing up with compassion, and responding to what is right in front of you. Whether someone is facing loss, transition, or unexpected difficulty, ReachOut creates space to bring both practical help and personal care.

You will learn more about what CRI does, make some new friends, and find out what it feels like to bring hope into everyday situations. It's a simple way to get involved and serve alongside other amazing people, all while being part of something meaningful right in your own community!

What To Expect

Each ReachOut includes a short orientation, team assignments, and guided opportunities to serve. Projects may include yard work, minor home care, organizing, packaging, or supporting people in small but practical ways that make a huge difference. In CRI, we always focus on both action and connection when we are serving people in crisis.

Who Can Join?

Anyone willing to show up and serve! No prior experience is required. Families, individuals, and small groups are welcome. (Each individual 16 and up needs to register separately.) For this August's event we are asking that only kids ages 12+ attend and the younger kids stay back. Thank you for understanding!

If you can't make it in person, please consider donating to CRI so that the family's needs are taken care of. (Please choose "ReachOut" from the donation dropdown menu!)
Blessings,
The CRI Team
